Fiction Weekend Workshop: Crafting Characters Readers Care About with Kenton Kilgore

Characters are an integral part of any fiction piece, but sometimes, creating vivid, engaging characters can be difficult. Novelist and past Bay to Ocean presenter Kenton Kilgore will walk you several strategies for developing characters, discuss their uses in stories, and offer tips on pitfalls to avoid with them.

KENTON KILGORE

Kenton Kilgore is the author of the sci-fi/fantasy novels This Wasted Land; Dragontamer's Daughters; Lost Dogs and its upcoming sequel, Stray Cats. He also co-wrote the children's picture book Our Wild Place, as well as Hand-Selling Books: Making Money and Winning Fans, a non-fiction guide to help writers sell books in person. Kenton is the Past President of the Eastern Shore Writers Association (ESWA), and has presented several times at ESWA's annual Bay to Ocean Writers Conference. He and his wife live on Kent Island, MD with too many dogs and cats.
