Aspiring nonfiction book authors don’t need a completed manuscript before pitching their work to agents and publishers. But many other elements do need to be written and polished before you’re taken seriously. This presentation will show authors what’s involved in writing a stellar nonfiction book proposal and preparing to query the marketplace. Participants will take away solid information on how to write a proposal, craft a query letter, and research where to submit. I’ll share tips on writing a strong pitch, researching “comp” book titles, doing audience analysis, describing your author platform, and more.
