Unlike other areas of the arts, poets tend to be one and done. Photographers take multiple exposures, Van Gogh painted The Starry Night in addition to many other variations of the view outside his room, and there are two stunning takes of Miles Davis/Bill Evans’ “Flamenco Sketches” on Kind of Blue. Poets have an idea, write a poem, then move on. For this workshop, bring a finished poem, one that you are pleased with. We’ll write another poem using the same inspiration but using one of three different forms: the golden shovel, the gigan, and the skinny. Let’s have some fun.
