Ron Sauder is a past president of ESWA (2017). He owns an independent publishing company based in Salisbury (Secant Publishing, LLC) which has published both fiction and nonfiction books of regional interest, including several award-winning books by ESWA members. Ron began his career as a newspaper reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch in Virginia. After leaving journalism, he worked in public relations for Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine, in Baltimore, and Emory University in Atlanta. He moved to the Eastern Shore with his wife Debbie in 2013 when she joined the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore as chair of the Department of Natural Sciences. Ron and Debbie enjoy life on the Wicomico River and also look forward to visiting their two children and their families in Pennsylvania whenever possible.
