What does Edgar Allan Poe mean to you?  He was a great poet and writer, if on the mournful and even macabre side.  Inventor of the detective story if not the horror genre.  Presenter Christopher T. George has been fascinated by the life and works of Poe since the early 1970's when he wrote "A Poe Tour of Baltimore" published in Maryland magazine in Summer 1974, an article recognized with an honorable mention in the A. D. Emmart Award that same year.  Since then, Chris has written multiple poems about the ever fascinating author of "The Raven" as well as given talks about the mystery about Poe's death in Baltimore on October 7, 1849.  The workshop will give participants the chance to consider Poe's life and works and to express their ideas about the writer on the basis of a number of prompts to be provided by the speaker.  The workshop promises to be an enlightening and enriching experience for participants.
