Christopher T. George discusses writing poems that include fictional scenarios and made-up characters or poems that portray real-life persons in historic or imagined scenarios. Chris shows through his own poems and those of other poets how we can use our imaginations to write thoughtful and meaningful poetry of this type, for example, a persona poem in which the poet speaks in the voice of another writer or a person from either our own day or history. Attendees are welcome to bring examples of their own poems that fit this description or works by favorite poets to read and discuss, time permitting. _________________
