In this workshop we’ll turn our poems upside down and shake them to see what comes out of the pockets. There’s a certain anxiety about taking apart our poems. But feeling free to juggle lines and stanzas allows us to find the poem that’s buried in the first draft. This technique structures our revision in a way that gets at our subconscious where the true poem hides. We will take time during the workshop to practice. Participants should bring a new poem that hasn’t found its way.
