Since ancient times, it has been the poet's job to leave a record of the specific time period they endured. The poet creates a vital testimony that retells the human experience in a way that is more authentic, and more trustworthy, than formal historians. This workshop will examine how a poet can use their own autobiography to uphold their duty of providing future generations with the true story of the cultural movements or social and political conditions of the society that shaped their lives.
