Most of the time, when we need to define a word, we go to Merriam-Webster.com or dictionary.com. We define the term and go on with our day. Without the internet, though, I loved paging through dictionaries, encyclopedias, phonebooks, even. There was the word I was looking up, but there were also surprises! In this generative workshop, we will play with dictionary definitions and see how other poets have worked with these forms. Participants will work together and solo to produce new and unique definitions for familiar terms!
